GOIN’ PUMPKIN PICKIN’

When the day dawns crispy clear and there are thoughts of Halloween everywhere, there’s just one thing to do … and Variety did it!   Gathering agency children in cars, we all went pumpkin pickin’ at Carolyn’s Country Cousins Pumpkin Patch & Market in Liberty, MO.  Upon arrival, a field of bright orange pumpkins beckoned surprised little eyes.  Great big pumpkins dotted the field, and perky smaller ones, too … all just begging to be chosen by happy boys and girls.

Pumpkins were not the only draw at Carolyn’s that fine Autumn day… the children also enjoyed the baby animals in their farm setting, playing in the haystack maze, and riding “Little Bud’s Train” before taking the Tractor Wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch.

With plenty of time to inspect the lot, selections were carefully made.  And then, to cap their special day, there were treats to eat for all.  Oh, what a day to remember, and to dream about all the way home.  Now, let’s see … how does it go?”   “When the frost was on the pumpkin …..”
