SCRAMBLING FOR THE KIDS

Leave it to the folks at Hy-Vee to put on a terrific Golf Scramble "' complete with special events, plenty of good eats and a host of exciting prizes, They did it again on Monday, June 9, when a field of golfers took to the nines with enthusiasm and gusto.

Nancy Pagel, Marketing Director for the Hy-Vee stores and a Variety Tent B Board member, coordinated the event that brought out a full field of players, The site was the Drumm Farm Golf Course in Independence, Missouri, And the day of the event? Well, when you get a bunch of die-hard golfers together, every day's a perfect day to play the game, Even more perfect -over $40,000 in proceeds for the kids.

To the Hy-Vee stores of Greater Kansas City, to Nancyand her crew, to all who assisted with the event, and especially to all who played for the kids, we borrow these words from International Variety: "You never stand so tall as when you stoop to help a child."
