Memories of a Special Night

If you were part of the crowd at the Midland Theatre for the annual OSCAR gala, March 23rd, you may recall these special K.C. moments:

Marianne Cooper, a picture of sheer joy upon learning that her son Chris had just won the OSCAR as Best Supporting Actor. A Jackson County resident, the happy Mom then shared her delight with an audience of home town Boosters.

A dazzling beauty in her own right, Linda Morgan Bell, wife of Chief's Hall of Famer Bobby Bell, rounded up some of the "boys" -including Will Shields, John Tait and Kenny "Fuzzy" Kremer among others, to lend support to Variety's kids.

Beautiful gals in stunning gowns, their escorts in party attire, just part of the lively crowd that enjoyed a night on the town on behalf of Variety's kids.

Members of Variety of Greater Kansas City Board . . . On the grand staircase of te beautiful Midland Theatre, expressing the satisfaction of an evenint that went smoothly and well.

Larry Moore and his charming wife Ruth ...he, Channel 9 and K.C.'s premiere TV anchor and she, a proud Mom and civic leader, who love to do their part for the kids.

Jonathan Monk and Dianna Kelley, STAR 102's radio duo, both Variety Board members, who between on- air performances, enlist in the challenge to meet the needs of the community's very special children.

A poignant moment, Ruth Moore cradles a Sunshine Center Infant (Upper). (Lower) Proud moms escort their Sunshine Center children up the red carpet to the event.
